Yoga 4 Runners runs every Wedneday at 7pm at our Old Street studio.
At LDN, a big part (and when we say big, we mean BIG) of our job is helping runners stay on top of their game, whether it be through injury prevention, rehabilitation or performance enhancement, and we think we're doing pretty good at understanding the unique physical challenges that come with running. We’re super stoked to announce the launch of our Yoga for Runners class—designed specifically to help you along your running journey to build resilience, prevent injuries, and support a stronger, smoother stride.
Why Yoga for Runners?
For runners, incorporating yoga can be a game changer. But we know not all yoga is the same, and not all yoga classes cater to the needs of runners. That’s why we’ve let Sophie craft this class with the specific demands of running in mind, focusing on areas that often need a little extra attention to keep you running comfortably.
Yoga for Runners will focus on releasing tension, improving flexibility, and building core strength—all of which contribute to a more efficient and enjoyable run. All about creating balance, so your body can handle the miles without the wear and tear.
What You Can Expect
Led by Sophie, who we think who is just the perfect instructor, given that she's not just a yogi, but also is pretty big into running, and has also been on their own injury journey with us, our Yoga for Runners class is crafted to support runners of all levels. Each session will incorporate targeted movements and poses, aimed at keeping you flexible, strong, and balanced.
Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll get from this specialised class:
Dynamic Stretching: Gentle but effective stretches that improve mobility in key areas like hips, ankles, and lower back, allowing for a greater range of motion and reduced risk of injury.
Core Stability: Running requires a strong core to maintain form and efficiency. We’ll work through poses and movements designed to build stability in your core, so you can run longer and more comfortably.
Breath Work: Learning how to breathe deeply and rhythmically is crucial for endurance and helps manage stress on your muscles during long runs. This class will guide you through breathing techniques to keep you grounded and steady.
Post-Run Recovery: Specific movements to release lactic acid build-up, alleviate soreness, and support muscle recovery so you can bounce back quickly after a long run.
At LDN our approach has always been to make sure each session adds value to your journey. Adding classes to our service portfolio follows the same motto - bespoke, supportive and challenging.
