WORKOUTS THAT COUNT

The coronavirus outbreak brought with it a flood of system-changing impacts that is affecting each and everyone of us - not least charities, whose role as society’s lifeline is now more needed than ever.

At LDN PHYSIO, working with charities has always been part of our mission. During the COVID-19 outbreak more than ever, we wanted to do our bit to help charities serving the most vulnerable throughout the coronavirus crisis.

That's why throughout the lockdown we developed a series of online classes aimed at raising money for a few selected charities supporting COVID19 victims. You can find the range of classes below; and see how the money raised helped our selected charities on their missions.

CARPARK SHAPES with Ruth (40mins)

Ruth is here to push you into feeling your best whilst helping to increase your strength, motivation & energy in your everyday life. Live from her Workout Carpark, expect good music, quickfire rounds for upper & lower body and an unwavering smile. You'll leave feeling fit, and a little sweaty!

VINYASA FLOW with Anna (45mins)

Anna will teach you how to use yoga at home to bring some calm and ease into your day.  This session is great for beginners - the perfect balance between easy flow and a bit of challenge, with the intention of opening up your body and bringing some presence into your days.

HIIT IT HOME with Marshall (45mins)

Don't think Marshall's baby face and chilled out nature will give you an easy ride! Toning strength exercises with high-energy floor work will have you burn extra calories for hours after the session. Expect upper & lower body work mixed in with cardio for a real metabolic approach.

CHARITIES

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment.

"The impact of Coronavirus is all around us and inescapable. It is an  extremely challenging and unsettling time for everybody, but it is especially difficult for vulnerable young people. We all turn to our families and friends to support us in times of crisis, but for many of Centrepoints young people, our services are their home, and our staff are their family and support network. During this unprecedented time, they need our support more than ever and we cannot do it without you."

1 CLASS COULD FUND A SAFE PLACE TO STAY

It might be the first good night's sleep they've had in months. Your donation could make sure homeless young people have a safe and warm place to stay.

3 CLASSES COULD PAY FOR A PERSONAL CARE KIT

A fresh set of clothes, shampoo, a toothbrush, a clean towel. Give a homeless young person the vital basics they need to help transform their life.

10 CLASSES COULD FUND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT

From family breakdown to rough sleeping, homelessness is tough on mental health. Help a homeless young person gain access to counselling and mental health support

Sufra NW London addresses both the causes and consequences of extreme poverty, homelessness and social isolation in the community. Their emergency interventions and innovative courses provide a life-line to people in crisis – empowering them to improve their wellbeing, learn new skills, find work and become financially stable..

"While some people are fighting over the last toilet roll in their supermarket, the donations we rely on to keep the food bank open are dwindling. We are struggling to buy the food and toiletries we need to help homeless people and families experiencing hunger – many of the essential items we need are out of stock.

 

The families we support simply can’t afford to panic buy and hoard food, they’re already knocking on our door in search of basic supplies. But this is just the tip of the iceberg… The UK is now on the precipice of a recession, which means financial donations to Sufra will soon start declining, while poverty and inequality increase and demand for emergency food aid continues to rise. Add to this Universal Credit, low wages, unaffordable rent and the impact of Brexit on food prices, and you can see why this really is such a toxic environment for a food bank like Sufra – and the people who depend on us.
