To understand how you can function better on the slopes. Whether skiing / snowboarding is new to you, or you are planning to go for a longer trip than usual; or have had recurring injuries / niggles in the past and want to check for any underlying issues. 

Your Ski MOT can include:

  • Body & Postural Analysis

  • Balance & Stability Testing

  • Movement Testing against normative data

  • Strength Testing against normative data

  • Power Testing

  • Blood Pressure, Heart Rate and Vitals

A questionnaire will be sent to you prior to the session to understand your goals and what you would like the session to be focused on. This will help your therapist choose the most relevant tests for the session. 

ADVANCED / RETURN-TO-SPORT AFTER INJURY

This is to measure your level of strength, power, agility, mobility, core control and other specific fitness metrics. Get all the answers science can give you on where your body needs improvements to ensure a healthy practice or return to skiing. 

Your Ski MOT can include:

  • Plyometrics Testing

  • ForceDecks Jump and Hop Testing
  • Specific Strength Testing

  • Power Generation

  • Agility and Mobility Testing

  • Video & Sensor Analysis

  • Training Routine Assessment​

At LDN PHYSIO we pride ourselves on our Return to Sports expertise, and will give all the tools to make sure that when returning to your own sport after injury, you’re back better, stronger than ever before.

 

The Return to Sports MOT is primarily designed to measure your level of strength, power, agility, mobility, core control and other specific fitness metrics to give you all the answers science can tell you on where your body needs improvements to ensure a healthy return to your sport. 

 

Different sports carry certain demands on the body, which require you to have particular attributes, and every sports for each person is slightly different. Our RTS specialists use state of the art equipment and measures alongside an evaluation of your physical history to give you data, analysis, plans and ongoing objectives tailored to you, and you only.

What does our Advanced / Return to Sports MOT consist of?

A specialist assessment into your body systems in relation to the specific demands of your sport Session led by one of our specialist RTS physiotherapists, with extensive experience in the sport you are looking to get back to.

 

Data-driven assessment and useful take-aways including a tailored RTS plan.

​

 

The Advanced / RTS MOT runs over 90 mins. Your specialist physiotherapist will perform specific tests and measurements specific to the demands of your sport. This will allow them to determine your level of function, your risk of injury and to design a tailored RTS plan so you can safely and quickly return to the sport in question.

Tests can include:

​

  • Accurate and specific testing of relevant muscle groups using Dynamometer

  • Specific movement testing (movement patterns specific to your sport)

  • Jump tests & Power testing with force plates

  • Video analysis of sport-specific movement and functional patterns (jumps, changes of directions, single leg pivoting...)

  • Specific analysis of body demands according to the sport (skiing vs snowboarding vs touring / backcountry)

  • Vitals: heart rate zones, body fat %...

  • Training routine and strength programme assessment

 

 

We'll give you a detailed report of your assessment findings and discuss the results together. Your Therapist can then advise on appropriate treatment for any areas of focus, including biomechanical correction, mobilisation and strengthening. If needed, further sessions with our Physios or Coaches can be arranged for you to carry on treatment beyond the session.
